Work Examples

Over the years, we have provided a range of services to our clients, and developed projects based on their unique and specific needs.

Google Ananta

As accessibility consultants for Google Ananta (external link), we played a key role in shaping an inclusive workplace by conducting a comprehensive design appraisal, reviewing mock-ups, and leading interim and post-occupancy user testing. Our involvement extended beyond compliance to innovation, introducing features that enhance both usability and experience. These included tactile carpets for navigational support, accessible working pods tailored for diverse needs, user-friendly accessible lockers, quiet workspaces for improved focus and well-being, and strategic color zoning to aid in intuitive wayfinding. Through this integrated approach, we contributed to creating a workspace that reflects Google’s commitment to accessibility and inclusive design.

Hindustan Unilever

DEOC conducted comprehensive accessibility audits across all factories, R&D offices, and headquarters, providing hands-on implementation support to drive accessibility improvements. We played a crucial role in retrofitting several older factories — some with significant structural challenges — to make them accessible and inclusive. In addition to physical accessibility, we also provided consultancy on reasonable accommodation and policy development to support the company’s efforts in establishing inclusive workplaces for persons with disabilities. Our involvement helped lay the foundation for a more inclusive and enabling work environment across their operations.

Museum of Art and Photography

At the Museum of Art and Photography (MAP), Bengaluru (external link), DEOC was engaged in the design appraisal not only of the building infrastructure but also of the museum’s exhibits and public-facing programs, including their art appreciation education initiatives. Our work extended beyond physical accessibility to shaping inclusive practices across the institution. We supported MAP in establishing its inclusion framework by drafting the job description for an Inclusion Officer and ensuring that all their webinars were made accessible through the use of captions and Indian Sign Language interpretation. Through this comprehensive approach, we helped MAP take meaningful steps toward becoming a truly inclusive cultural space.

Brookfield Properties

Brookfield (external link) engaged us to enhance the accessibility of their base buildings across India. As part of this collaboration, several buildings were successfully retrofitted to meet accessibility standards. In addition to physical infrastructure improvements, we were also tasked with training their staff to provide appropriate support to persons with disabilities, fostering a more inclusive environment. To ensure long-term impact, we developed comprehensive accessibility design guidelines for their architects and designers, enabling them to create inclusive spaces in all future developments. This holistic approach has helped embed accessibility into Brookfield’s operations and culture.
